Story
In the Spring of 2013 I will be taking part in an Expedition trekking and climbing in Nepal, this 21 day Expedition of the Everest High Passes and Peaks explores the real Nepal through the four dramatic Himalayan valleys of Thame, Gokyo, Khumbu and Imja, with the ascent of four peaks: Gokyo RI 5357m, Aiwa Peak 5245m, Kalapatthar 5550m and the 6189m, Island peak.
The expedition sets off in late March 2013 and goes beyond just straightforward trekking to encompass climbing a number of himalayan peaks at high altitude. We also visit Everest Base camp and Ama Dablam base camp following in the footsteps of the great climbers of yesteryear.
This is a self funded expedition, all money raised by team members will go directly to their chosen charities not towards the expedition. I have chosen to support Parkinson's UK a charity that does great work supporting people with Parkinson's and their families, along with funding research to improve treatment and work towards a cure for Parkinsons.
In all we will peak over 22,341 metres which is two and a half times higher than Everest.
