Story
I am going to Tanzania in January for three months with Go Make a Difference or GoMAD. GoMAD connect volunteers with real need in Musoma, Northern Tanzania. While I'm there I will stay in Eagle Lodge, which is run by GoMAD, and work on the range of development projects have out there. I am particularly focused on the projects involving reforestation and goats sheds. These aim to be sustainable in the long term and a source of income and independence which I believe is really important to improve quality of life in the long term.
These are just two examples of the many amazing education, building and medical projects GoMAD have in Musoma. The need is very great with an inflated estimate of 17% of girls attending enrolled in secondary schools. GoMAD run trips throughout the year for volunteers of all ages to go and contribute to their projects. As the name suggests, GoMAD make sure that volunteers make a real impact by equipping them with the construction and medical skills needed to be a positive force in Musoma.
I aim to raise £350 which all will go directly to the projects I will be working on while I'm out there, any donations would mean a lot to me and make a huge impact on the recipients of your donation. It costs about $5 to treat someone for malaria, and GoMAD plays a key role in providing malaria treatment by transporting people to hospitals, which saves lives that would've otherwise been lost. This shows how a donation no matter how small can have an impact, so your support would be greatly appreciated either through financial contributions or sharing this page. Thank you.
