We deliver pioneering pre-hospital care to severely injured or ill patients.

Story

My name is Paul, A Cumbrian Lad Outdoors on YouTube, sadly last year I lost my Mum to cancer, and in her last few weeks she often needed emergency care at home, the air ambulances car was the first to turn up each time. Also with my wildcamping hobby my friends, I, and anyone who loves the outdoors may find ourselves in need of help. I, along with some friends will be walking and wildcamping the 73 mile (112km) route, which is definitely my biggest wildcamping challenge to date. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to 1,640 call outs last year* alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
