Story
I have been allocated the only charity place in the London Marathon 2017 for Nightingale House Wrexham.
My extremely brave dad had palliative care at Nightingale House for 13 days before he passed away on the morning of Monday 20th June 2016, following a 3 year battle with cancer.
Nightingale House is a truly special place and I simply can't thank them enough for absolutely everything they did and still do. All their help and support they gave to my dad and the family through the very last stages will always be cherished in my heart and never forgotten.
Running the London Marathon will only be a very small token of showing my full gratitude and appreciation to such a wonderful and important place. I am running this marathon for every single person and their families that walk through the doors of Nightingale House, in a time of desperate need and comfort.
Nightingale House is an independent and voluntary health care provider who only tend to get a place in the Marathon once every 4-5 years so I/we need to do them proud!!
Death is a terrifying process which is a part of life and we all know it will happen to all of us at some point. Nightingale House makes the process less intimidating and frightening. They want to create smiles and memories for those you love.
It costs £7,700 everyday to provide services free of charge to patients and their families.
Thank you for spending the time to view my fundraising page. Wishing love and good health to all. Abigail xx
