Story
Hello!
As most people will know, I trained for the London marathon two years ago and unfortunately got a stress fracture a week before and had to pull out. I managed to postpone my space until now so finally... I will be running the marathon in April!
I am running the marathon with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Macmillan in memory of my Mum, Lisa Russell. Anyone that knew my Mum would be able to tell you that she was the happiest, kindest most beautiful person and she shouldn't have been lost to a four year battle with breast cancer at just 49 years old. She was so funny, so positive and just the most incredible Mum me and Alex could have wished for.The Macmillan nurses that helped her along the way were incredible and I couldn't thank them enough for the continuous care they gave my Mum throughout her illness.
Training has begun and you'll now find me out 6 times a week running in the cold and rain training for this event! Any support you can give me would be amazing - I am sure the majority of you know someone going through cancer and there are many people who will at some point be relying on Macmillan themselves one day. This situation is something I am sure a lot of people will be able to relate too and unfortunately too many of my friends have had cancer effect their families, so I will be running this for all of them too. I will keep my page updated with my progress and thanks for taking the time to visit my page!
Bring on the 22nd April!
