Why we are doing this:

The pandemic has doubled the amount of people suffering from acute hunger, that’s 272 million people are in desperate NEED of basic necessities and orphans and widows are at the forefront of this suffering. Therefore, this campaign is dedicated to orphans and widows who are impacted by Covid-19 to ensure they have enough food to survive during these tough times. 

For thousands of orphan and widowed families in Kashmir who have lost the breadwinner of their house as a result of conflict, Orphans in Need's food parcel becomes their lifeline.

Orphans in Need provided over 8 million meals to needy widows and orphans last year, and with your help they aim to provide 10 million meals this year.

What food parcels provide: 

Each food parcel generally contains rice, flour, oil, lentils, pulses, spices, tea, sugar, vegetables, dates, soap and sanitation products. In addition, Orphans In Need make sure that all the produce is sourced locally with a focus on nutritional benefit and longevity. Not only will you be helping vulnerable widows and orphans, but your support will help local economies prosper.

How you can help?

· £30 can feed 1 widow and her children for the whole month 

· £60 can feed 2 widows and their children for the whole month

·£150 can feed 5 widows and their children for the whole month 

· £300 can feed 10 widows and their children for the whole month

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this," putting his index and middle fingers together. Sahih al-Bukhari.
