This event is the goal I have worked towards for the last year, training regularly through the winter months and then stepping it all up for these last few months - it will be the biggest challenge I've ever taken on!

The charity Rainbow Africa is close to my family: my Father and Mother in law are currently in Zambia working hard in support of all the activities that the charity run, and they divide their time between there and the UK. It is a small charity but they are doing great things in the country, so every penny really does make a difference.

Key projects include a child sponsorship programme to be highly educated, fed and clothed; often the only hot meal these children have is their school lunch. Another amazing work is the Granny Project; caring for the elderly when they 'inherit' their grandchildren and great-grandchildren due to the awful impact of AIDs. 100% off your donation will go to the charity so even more reason to give.

The money that you all raise will be the motivation to get me round the course: 1900m swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.9 mile run, so all donations gratefully received!
