Story

On the 28th March 2001 we heard the news that Dad, Michael King, had Lung Cancer.

The kind of news that you  never think  will touch your family, your family are invincible and will be there forever!

As if this wasn't heart-breaking enough, he was also told it had already spread to his spine and his brain. From that point Dad being Dad reassured us that he was going to fight this the best he could and that it wasn't going to beat him.......

Within 2 months, on the 20th May 2001, Michael King lost his battle to cancer.

Macmillan offered amazing support throughout Dad's short battle to Cancer. Not only did they offer support to him, but to the whole family. Nothing was too much trouble; an ear to listen, advice, honest opinions, care, space, dignity and the opportunities to give us the best and most memorable experiences possible, the things that truly make a difference.

To think this support is only there and kept going by the kind donations from people like you and I! Without us the care and support would not be possible, the kind of care that gives loved ones around us who are fighting their battle to Cancer the most enjoyable and comfortable days, weeks, months, years they could possibly wish for.

Please support me in my quest to keep Macmillan going by cycling from London to Brighton!!!!! Sore bottom coming my way!!!!!!!
