Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As many of you may be aware, my mum has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is the strongest, most amazing, kind and inspirational woman I know. I am hoping to channel some of her attitude into running my first marathon. 

I have always wanted to run a marathon, our family always watched the London Marathon on tv and admired the bravery and downright nuttiness of the participants, I cannot wait to be part of that! Though having not even run a half marathon, this is a big, big challenge for me. But I am ready for the training, determined and excited. 

Breast Cancer Now is the largest UK charity for breast cancer. They fund research into defeating this common yet cruel disease as well as campaigning for changes to care and encouraging more women to check their breasts, be informed and to seek advice and support. They recently made a breakthrough by discovering the molecule responsible for the most aggressive breast cancer often found in young women. Women diagnosed with breast cancer stand a greater chance of survival than ever and we can beat this. Charities such as this are on the cusp of some great innovations in breast cancer treatment.
