Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In June 2014 I will be cycling 400 miles from Leeds to Paris to raise money for the charity Save the Children.
Save the Children is an fantastic charity that promotes children's rights, provides relief, and helps to support children in developing countries. Currently every year more than 1 million babies die within their first 24 hours of life. Half of these deaths could be avoided if the mother and baby were given free healthcare and a skilled midwife. Three out of ten women worldwide have to give birth without a midwife; that's 40 million women every single year. Save the Children wants to stop this.
£3 could pay for life-saving treatment for eight children with diarrhoea
£25 could provide ‘safe birth kits’ for three women giving birth at home
£50 could buy two hygiene kits with soap, towels and toothbrushes
If I reach my fundraising goal of £300 we can help 36 women give birth to their children safely.
Those of you who know me will know that this ride is no mean feat, and every single donation is very much appreciated.
