Story
For 22 years I've had the incurable and chronic IBD condition called Ulcerative Colitis. Sadly over the last couple of years it became worse and had a huge impact on my life, including being unable to work for over a year from March 2020. I was even unable to leave the house for much of 2020 to go for a short walk due to the severity of the condition. Thankfully after starting my 3rd type of immunosuppressive infusion (in 18 months) before Christmas 2020, my symptoms became a bit more under control.
IBD affects people in many different ways. Crohn's and Colitis are known as invisible conditions-you may seem okay on the outside, but sufferers have to deal with many hidden symptoms including fatigue, joint pain, insomnia, stomach cramps and poor mental health.
Due to the pandemic, fundraising has reduced a considerable amount, so I'm hoping to raise some money for Crohn's and Colitis UK.
I've set myself a huge task of walking the entire length of the Pembrokeshire Coast path (186 miles), with some of the shorter routes, Noah and Lucy will be joining me to make this a family effort! It has taken me well over the time I set to complete the route due to being back working full time, illness and now recovering from my permanent Ileostomy surgery. I aim to get this finished by the end of the year!!
