Young Lives vs Cancer CLIC
This charity is a charity very close to mine and my families heart. Young Lives vs Cancer (Clic Sargent) supported my parents through the toughest time of their lives when my brother Ross aged 16 months was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in April 1993.
Ross was being cared for at Bristol Children's Hospital. Through this my parents were at the hospital 24/7 for weeks, sleeping on the chair next to his bed.
CLIC Sargent (YLvsC) were on hand to support my parents.
They helped towards parking fee's, the cost of boarding kennels for the dog and provided a nearby accommodation when Ross was admitted to intensive care.
'A home away from home.' is what they described it as. A place they could rest their heads and recharge for a couple of hours between the long hospital stints.
Unfortunately, whilst there, they received a phone call to go back to the hospital urgently.
Ross lost his battle with cancer the following day, aged 22 months.
CLIC (YLvsC) were there to help takeaway the pressures they couldn't deal with at the time and will always be grateful for their help and support.
This is why I am running the London Marathon,
Please donate what you can, every little bit will help contribute towards our target.
So...
I'm going to be pounding the pavements for the next 4 months, if you see me please dangle a burger in front of me so I run a little faster 😅
I'll keep most of my updates via Instagram @aaronmasonpt
Lots of love, as always...
