A Thought for Dementia

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dementia is a devastating disease and having experienced it first hand, it's horribly true that you lose someone you love twice when they suffer from Dementia.
Mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease 15 years ago, which over the last 5-6 years, slowly developed into Lewy Body Dementia. On Boxing Day 2019, we lost mum the first time following an aneurism that left her bed-bound in a care home, unable to recognise her own family, communicate or do anything for herself. Mum turned 70 in June and sadly, she passed away peacefully in her sleep in August this year.
Having experienced the devastating impact that Dementia has had on my family, I'm delighted that my company is fundraising for Dementia UK in 2022, the money will go to support the fantastic Admiral Nurses who do so much for the families affected by this awful disease.
