Story
What do wearing a fleece, wearing out your car tyres, and using certain facial scrubs have in common? All of these actions can release small particles of plastic into our waterways which flow out into the ocean. These plastic particles are called "microplastics" and they can have detrimental effects on marine ecosystems and potentially to human health.
As more and more of the impacts of our lifestyle choices on the environment are revealed, it is easy to become hopeless or not know where to start to change.
We want to build the capacity of communities and individuals to act against microplastic pollution through participating in scientific research, awareness campaigns, educational events, and building hope.
With your help, we will create powerful, open-access educational material and conduct education and research events at our field study centres in France and Portugal.
