Story
Sunday 25th April saw Ross Richardson complete his last ever marathon (honest). Running in near to ideal conditions, if a little hot for a Scotsman, he finished in 3 hours 26 minutes 53 seconds. For the statisticians the numbers look like this:
Time: 3:26:53
Overall Position: 3832
Position for gender: 3413 (who were those 419 women who beat me?)
Position for age group (50-54): 245
Thanks to everyone who has helped me raise money for the Aberdeen Physically Disabled Swimming Club. For those who haven't yet donated, the lines are still open! As a reminder:
The Aberdeen Physically Disabled Swimming Club welcomes people of all ages with any form of physical problem, acute or chronic, temporary or permanent who feel they would benefit from therapeutic exercise in the water. APDSC meets every Tuesday in school term time and one-to-one assistance is provided as far as volunteer help allows. The club could not function without regular volunteers to help both in the changing rooms and in the water and more volunters are always welcome. Enquiries to Morag Mitchell, Club Secretary on 01224 682373.
The Aberdeen Physically Disabled Swimming Club celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2010 and in its history has had success in competitions and galas including the Paralympics in Barcelona in 1989.
Your donation will help APDSC purchase special equipment, take part in swimming events and help to finance social events so please give generously to this worthy local charity.
I have raised money for many big national charities in the past but am especially pleased to be running for the Aberdeen Physically Disabled Swimming Club who don't have the fundraising and PR organisations of the big charities. I know that every penny donated will make a huge difference and will be very gratefully received so please give all you feel can and donate now.
And finally, a big thanks to my brother-in-law Lee Williamson and all at Union Supplies www.unionsupplies.com for sponsoring my training kit.
Many thanks
Ross
