Story

Hello all,

Yes I will be taking on the biggest challenge of my life so far. I will be trekking with my partner Phil (an ex Gloster) to Base Everest Camp on 25/10/2011. "12 days of a walk in the park" with no wine & lots of fresh air. "Life is like a box of chocolates cos you never know what you are going to get" & "run forest run" or walking in my case, seems to spring to mind!

I want to do this as the cause is close to Phil's heart, as he himself was injured in Northern Ireland whilst in service & he,his father & his grandfather have all served in the Glosters. Karl his nephew is also in the military & will be participating in his second tour of Afghanistan later this year.

The Rifles was formed out of a merger in 2007 of four regiments; The Royal Gloucestershire,Berkshire & Wiltshire Light Infantry, The Devonshire & Dorset Light Infantry & The Royal Green Jackets and has seen 56 people killed and over 300 men and women seriously wounded. This money will go a long way to supporting many of these casualities and families within the local community.

If I can raise £750 then my employer, Barclays Bank PLC,Gloucester will match £ 4  £ up to this amount .

Every £1 of your donations will go directly to Care for Casualties. For more information visit www.careforcasualties.org.uk

Many Thanks,

 Angela
