A4 Ward aims to provide a specialist service to care for patients with all colorectal (lower bowel) disorders. Conditions treated by the team include: anal fissures, anal fistulas, bowel polyps, bowel prolapse, bowel cancer (cancer of the colon and rectum), diverticular disease, haemorrhoids (piles), incontinence, inflammatory bowel disease (colitis and Crohn's) and minor anal conditions.  we have access to specialist investigations for colorectal diseases. Our patients can have complex and embarrassing (for them) conditions. We want to break the stigma of stomas and help raise awareness making it just as “normal” to have one, as it is not to have one . 

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people with stomas and to their families, carers and friends. Colostomy UK also campaigns and acts as advocates for ostomates on the many issues they face going about their daily lives. We want hidden conditions to be understood and accepted by all. Our vision is of communities in which everyone is empowered to reach their potential.
