A six man endurance relay race and World Record attempt from Marble Arch to the Arc de Triomphe.
WHO?
The ‘Blood Brothers’ – Mark Whittaker, James Whittaker, John P. Whittaker, Gary Morton, Gary Shaw and Tom Hardman consist of 3 brothers and 3 friends from the North West of England, who are taking part in the 2014 ‘Enduroman Arch2Arc challenge’ in the hope of breaking the world record - covering 300 miles in less than 35 hours.
WHAT?
The event starts with an 87 mile run from London’s Marble Arch to the Dover coast, then swim across the English Channel to the French coast, and finally finish with a 181 mile bike ride from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The event will start on 23rd September 2014 and you can follow the team’s progress on the day by visiting enduroman.com.
WHY?
As well as aiming to smash the current world record, the team are hoping to raise awareness of the Blood Transfusion Service and are eager to achieve donations of 1001 units of blood or £1001 in financial donations.
