Story
In August 2010, we will be going to the Dominican Republic with Mission Direct to work on a two week Outreach Project. We will be helping to build housing for the workers mainly living on the sugar cane fields, currently earning 60p a day and live in shacks made of sticks and rubble.
We will also be visiting sick children in the hospital and helping the community in the village Aguas Negras (Black Waters) which is regarded as the worst of the worst due to the black sewage water that is always in the streets. We aim to give hope, inspiration and love to a very poor community.
A number of people from Findon Valley Free Church will be joining us in a 18 mile walk along the South Downs Way to raise money for this project. Many more will be joining us for the last 6 miles.
Please sponsor us for this important cause. This money will be used to provide a house for a family, purchase medical supplies and provide food and hygiene kits.
Thank you, Alan and Amanda
