Story
In October 2015, myself and three others will set off across the UK in an attempt to visit all 92 of the Football League clubs in 92 hours or less. The journey will consist of approximately 2,500 miles in one vehicle, meeting great people and incredible support along the way.
Between us we'll be raising much needed funds for two great charities... Prostate Cancer UK and Alzheimer's Research UK.
For four football mad blokes this challenge more than whet our appetites when we heard of others who had taken part. Immediately we saw the opportunity to raise funds for charity and these two are close to all our hearts. My personal motivation stems from my father - who was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer three years ago. My eyes were opened to the condition and indeed how it affects so many men. There are many facts and figures but perhaps the most striking is that 1 in every 8 men in the UK will get Prostate Cancer at some point in their lives... making it the most common male cancer.
I am very fortunate and thankful to be able to say that my father is now in remission. His story has been a successful one and because of the incredible work done by Prostate Cancer UK, there are many more... we want to help them continue the fight.
There are many exciting ideas to accompany our trip and we'll be speaking to individuals, companies, organisations and clubs to help us in our bid to raise as much as possible.
Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated and we hope you will support us in any way you can.
