Story
Climbing Snowdon and Ben Nevis is turning into an annual event for us and as a consequence so is playing our part in saving lives. When we started out we took part in Snowdon Rocks and raised funds and awareness, then it became Snowdon Rocks and Ben Nevis Rocks, from this we then then started volunteering for Love Hope Strength Foundation by swabbing potential stem cell donors.
4 years on we now feel the need for a new challenge, our first plan was to climb 3 peaks in a week but wondered what to do on the days in between, so it became "lets do one every day". So on route we will climb Ben Nevis (4409 ft), Ben Lomond (3196 ft), Skiddaw (3054 ft), Scafell Pike (3209 ft), Helvellyn (3025 ft), Elidir Fawr (3029 ft), Carnedd Llewelyn (3490 ft) and Mt Snowdon (3560 ft). The combined ascent will be (give or take) 26,972 ft, (Mt Everest is 29,029 ft) distance is roughly 65 miles and time, well somewhere around 48 hours of trekking.
Visit out Face book page at www.facebook.com/8peaksin8days to follow us on the challenge. Visit http://www.lovehopestrength.co.uk for more information. We hope you can support us in the fight against cancer.
Many thanks, Nicola & David
