Fundraising for The Ethan Maull 'Up Yours To Cancer' Foundation
Thank you for taking the time to read on ...
Their aim is simple: 91.7 miles in no more than 7 days, all within Lincolnshire and in support of The Ethan Maull 'Up Yours to Cancer' Foundation. They'll finish by running the inaugural OSB Lincoln Half Marathon on Sunday 2nd October 2016 and they look forward to seeing you all there (www.osbevents.com). They'd love to hear from people who can offer their support during the week (26/09/16 to 02/10/16) or, better, are willing to enjoy some miles with them in the 'run up' to Sunday.
Cancer Research UK report that there are now 960 new cases of cancer diagnosed every day of the week, 365 days a year. Thankfully, less than 1% of those cancers are recorded in children, teenagers and young adults. When Ethan was diagnosed with a rare form of Osteosarcoma, he set himself the target of raising money for Ward E39 at Nottingham Children's Hospital and, ultimately, to fund another Billy's House. Steven, Mark & Chris are running to raise awareness of Ethan's Foundation and, with your support, they hope to raise £5,000. You can read more of Ethan's story here - http://upyourstocancer.co.uk/ethans-story.
Steven, Mark and Chris are all keen triathletes and runners. Steven and Mark boast respectable Ironman times - 140.6 miles for those not yet acquainted, comprising a 2.4m swim, 112m bike and 26.2m run - and Chris is the natural runner with a recent 1hr 40min half marathon. 13.1 miles is a challenge for most people; 13.1 miles after 78 miles will require an extra special effort! They know the week will be tough but with some good training planned; forgiving weather and the support of a good Sports Therapist, Patrick at Therapy Room One (www.therapyroom1.co.uk), the team are in good spirits. You can follow their effort @RunLincs (Twitter).
Please dig deep and thank you for your support.
