£72 for 72 celebrating 72 years of our NHS · 29 June 2020 to 30 September 2020 ·

This year we've come together like never before to celebrate our wonderful NHS. Whether you have clapped for our carers, raised money or coloured in rainbows for your windows, thank you for showing just how much our NHS means to you.

Story

On Saturday 18th July, between the 4 of us we are aiming to raise £72 each for the NHS as our own celebration for their 72nd birthday.

To do this we are aiming to run 72 shuttle runs between us from Pooles Cavern up to Solomons Temple and back. This is a distance of 1.25 miles per lap with an elevation gain of 345ft, meaning in our 18 laps we will each run 22.5 miles and climb 6,210ft! That is a total of 90 miles with an elevation gain of 24,840ft!

Whether it's a trip to A&E, the birth of a child or treatment for an illness, The NHS at some point will have played a massive part in all of our lives and the recent and ongoing pandemic highlights just how important and fantastic our National Health Service is.

We are taking on this challenge to try to raise £72 each to mark 72 years since its inception and to say thank you to each and every one of the amazing people who are there for us when we need them most.
