Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
About 7 years ago I had an idea of helping people approaching the end of their lives to write and record an original song. This was inspired by the death of my Grandma and me regretting not writing a song with her before she passed. In may 2017 I started writing songs with patients at the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford and on April 25th 2018 The Swan Song Project became a Registered Charity.
Since then the charity has expanded every year, now working with many hospices across Yorkshire as well as a range of community services supporting people facing the end of their lives. We also support people dealing with bereavement to write a song in memory of their lost loved one. Last year we recruited and trained 7 new songwriters massively expanding the amount of impact we can make. We are now delivering our sessions in person across Yorkshire or virtually across England and Wales.
Our vision is that everyone has the chance to celebrate their life in a song and we hope to continue to expand our service over the next 5 years.
To celebrate this milestone Myself, My wife Emily and my old friend Pad will be taking on the Lake District 5 peaks challenge. A day hike taking in 5 of the Lake Districts biggest peaks - Scafell Pike (978m) Great End (910m) Ill Crag (935m) Allen Crags (785m) and Rossett Pike (651m).
I hope you will consider supporting us and help The Swan Song Project to continue Celebrating Lives, Making Memories and Leaving Legacies.
