Story
In memory of Amelia Saunders and Katy Holmes.
We are: Ian Aldous, Tom Barrett, Dominic Baldwin, Jamie Garrett & David Garrett - 5 friends taking on the 24 hour 3 peaks challenge in order to raise money for funding research into paediatric brain tumours.
On Saturday 22nd June the five of us (ably driven by Martyn Garrett) will be climbing Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Snowdon all in 24 hours .
This is in memory of 2 beautiful girls - Katy Holmes and Amelia Saunders.
Katy and Amelia were both diagnosed with terminal and inoperable tumours known as DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) - This tumour gives an average life expectancy of 9-12 months and a survival rate of 0%!
This type of tumour is devastating. It is located in the brain stem which controls all the vital functions. Children lose the ability to walk, talk and eventually breath.
Sadly, both Katy and Amelia lost their battles with DIPG on 19th January 2012 and 06th January 2013.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children in the UK, and yet brain tumour research receives less than 1% (0.7%) of cancer research funding in the UK.
This cannot go on.
So please dig deep and donate all that you can to help provide much needed funds to go towards research into brain tumours.
