Story
What are we doing?
Each of us will be running 5 miles a day, everyday in August. That might not sound like much to some people, but we’ve all got small kids and the dad bods to match…it’s going to be painful. 155 miles is long way!
Why are we doing it?
In 2013 our friend Marcus was diagnosed with splenic lymphoma (check out his blog at https://spleniclymphoma.com), ironically because he was super fit and ran lots of marathons (full story on the blog). Every year since, he’s raised thousands of pounds for charity.
This year, chemo is taking it’s toll and he’s taking a break - so we’re stepping up to fill the void. The challenge had to running, and we’re none of us fit enough to run an actual marathon, and this was the most painful but acheivable thing marcus came up with.

We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
