Story
I was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in May 2017 aged 60 and given a worst case prognosis of 2 years. Exercise has been a vital part of coping with my diagnosis and I believe that it will extend my prognosis. Move Charity are encouraging those living with and beyond cancer to exercise and I was delighted to become the Wilmslow parkrun ambassador and NW regional champion to help develop the initiative across the North West. I hope to raise a few quid to support their amazing work so I’ve decided to try to run or hike at least 5k every day for a year in 2022 (as you do). It will mainly be running but I have a hiking holiday in July so I’ve allowed myself to include hikes but they’ll be proper hikes. Anyway, I’ve got terminal cancer so I can make my own rules up 😀
