North Coast 500 · 1 July 2018

We believe that no one should be excluded from the life-changing benefits of community sport. We support community sports clubs, organisations, coaches and volunteers to provide inclusive inclusive sports offers, helping change the lives of underserved young people in their local community.

Story

5 friends, over 500 miles in 5 days....  We are cycling the North Coast 500 - a 516 mile (830km) route which starts and finishes in Inverness and circumnavigates the west and north coast of Scotland.

This will be a significant challenge (which is only likely to be increased by the vagaries of the Scottish weather), so we'd like to use this as inspiration to raise funds for Access Sport.

Access Sport believe all young people should be able to experience the enjoyment and power of sport. Over the past few years the number of people on low incomes participating in sport has fallen by nearly 50,000, contributing to a third of UK children being classified as obese or overweight.  Access Sport aims to provide sports equipment, facilities, events and coaching to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, regardless of ability, gender or ethnicity, the chance to enhance their lives and prospects through sport.
