Story
I had an idea. It was a crazy idea! It’s happening!
On 16th April 2023 I’ll be running the Manchester marathon. 26.2 miles! This alone is going to be hard, I have memories of “running” a marathon in 2010 and that wall smacked so hard. Just one week after Manchester I’ll be running the London marathon!
A total of 52.4 miles!
I feel fortunate that I’m healthy enough to even contemplate doing this.
I’m taking on this amazing challenge to help raise funds for Blood Cancer UK. Their work helps research into blood cancer, but also provides vital support to those impacted. Blood cancer is something that is currently impacting my family, and I’m in awe of the strength shown throughout.
Over 40,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with a blood cancer every year. Your donations go towards critical research and trials with the goal of eradicating cancer, but for now allowing people the best chance of survival and to live their best life with it.
What does your donation go towards?
£165 - Could pay for lab supplies like goggles and disinfectant for a day. Thanks to you, researchers can safely carry out the experiments needed to beat blood cancer.
£300 - Could fund a PhD student to conduct vital research for three days. PhD students are sustaining the UK’s world-leading blood cancer research, and thanks to your support this is possible.
£500 - Could fund a nurse to provide help and support for three days during a clinical trial, giving your loved one a hand to hold at that vital moment.
