Story
As many of you know, my Dad sadly passed away at Strathcarron Hospice in May of last year. As a way of keeping him with me on my 50th birthday, I want to raise as much money as I can in his memory to donate to Strathcarron so other families can receive the care that we did.
The hospice kept my Dad comfortable and was a much better place for him to get the care he needed than the hospital. He was able to watch his programs and listen to his favourite CD’s in a room that felt less like a hospital ward and more like home.
His family were able to be around him and chat away to him and make sure when his Katherine Jenkins CD finished, the next one was ready to go! And when the heartbreaking time came, it was a comfortable place for us to process and cry and figure out what on earth we do next.
Raising Money
I would love it if instead of a birthday card or gift, you could donate whatever you can to Strathcarron. The couple of pounds a card costs could instead help pay for the nurses who take such good care of their patients.
We are planning a car boot sale in which all the money we make will go straight to Strathcarron Hospice. We are still figuring out dates but will keep you updated!
