Story

Welcome to our 500km fundraiser for Galway Simon Community!!

We are the second year nursing class group at NUI Galway. Following our online lectures showing us the amazing work that the Galway Simon Community do for the people of Galway, we have decided that we wanted to give back and raise some funds for their charity in the run up to Christmas.

Even though we're not on campus at this time due to Covid-19 and are scattered throughout the country, we wanted to do something together as a class and so we have decided we would raise funds by doing a 500km virtual jog/walk/run on the 7th of December to 13th of December.

We will be sharing our progress with you over the next week showing you how we are getting on with our fundraiser and we would be more than grateful if you could donate to our fundraiser so together we can bring a little bit more joy and light into Christmas for those in need this year.

About the charity

Galway Simon was set up in 1979 by volunteers who refused to accept homelessness on the streets of Galway. With the support of the wider community, we have grown, learned and adapted over the years to become a leading provider of homeless and homelessness prevention services in the region.
