Story

500 miles And Collecting Smiles

Supporters and Volunteers of Radio Lollipop Manchester are taking up the challenge of collectively clocking up 500 miles in the month of September to raise essential funds to ensure Radio Lollipop Manchester can keep operating as they get used to the new normal and to keep bring smiles to the children in hospital.

Radio Lollipop has stations throughout the UK and the distance of 500 miles is like traveling from Radio Lollipop Southampton all the way to Radio Lollipop Dundee.

Radio Lollipop Manchester operates out of The Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital. They provide care, comfort and entertainment to children in hospital through interactive play, crafts and radio.

During the pandemic Radio Lollipop have not be able to operate as they would normally do, however they have seen this as a challenge not an obstacle , and have come up with other way to reach the children on the wards whilst they are not able to access them physically.

To help support the new ways of working we are looking to raise £1,000 to help ensure Radio Lollipop Manchester can continue to operate and bring smiles to the children in hospital .
