Story
As you all may know, our Mum, Linda unfortunately passed away on 16th August. She was an amazing woman who got on with everyone and is loved and missed so much. When she went into St Catherines, I (Paul) like most people thought "Why?, this is where people go to die". It was a place I always knew was there but never thought I'd need or like to go to.
Mum went there to get her strength up as the care they gave was for people like Mum who had a condition that was not cureable but could be treated. When I first went it wasn't only my first time, but also my Mum's. We could see that she felt so much more comfortable there than in hospital where she had been the week previously. The staff were always asking if she was OK or if we needed anything. All my worries were cleared by the care they provided.
In her last day, we knew what was happening but the care and dignity provided was even more than we had seen before. We will never forget that support and this is why I'm doing this daft thing!
I may reach the target but I need to do the jump but would like so much more. I know Mum will be watching over me, even though she will be covering her eyes in dread!
Thanks,
Paul, Lee & Hollie x
