Story

My Father-in-law was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (ALS) in January 2011. It's not something I knew much about but I certainly do now. MND is a progressive disease that attacks the nerves or motor neurones in the brain and spinal cord; it can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe and there is no cure (yet). Brian's positivity and Scottish fighting spirit means he's prepared for battle and he is surrounded by family and friends who love and support him every step of the way.

I am raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association that has provided fantastic support to Brian in the form of Cynthia.

Traditionally the Mackay clan was one of the strongest clans in Scotland and he's proof that's still the case. Manu Forti!

Brian has told me that he often dreams of running and while I haven't done much running recently, and will need to do a lot of training to even get through it, this one's for you Father-in-law xx
