John and Susan are taking on the challenge of The 47 mile long 'Stanza Stones Walk' from Marsden to Ilkley in West Yorkshire to raise money for the MS Society - who can then fund more biomedical research into finding a cure for MS.
We are hoping to improve upon the success of our #52milesforMS walk, (on which we raised over £2,500.00) through this project and a Charity Auction in November.
The Stanza Stones Walk is a 'poetry trail' visiting stones across the West Yorkshire upland which have been carved with poems especially written by Simon Armitage and that capture the relationship between the landscape and language of Yorkshire.
We will walk between 3 - 8 October 2015 taking in the six stanzas, accompanied by friends and fellow walkers along the way (all welcome!).
The MS Society is a charity close to our hearts, as John has been diagnosed with MS and we are working with the Charity to do as much as we can to fundraise to support research and care activity for those living with MS, but also family members and friends who live alongside those diagnosed with the disease.
As well as the walk, there will be a Charity Auction at 'Leggers' pub in Dewsbury on Friday 20 November 2015. More information about that to come!
