Story
Men’s Metal Health is a huge issue. More needs to be done to support, promote and enable more men to talk and seek help with their mental health.
Gone should be the days where men are ashamed to feel, and cannot talk. Talking saves lives. Suicide rates are alarmingly high and the rate of male suicides is just heart breaking. I'm hoping by combining what tools I have at my disposable, along with your support, we can change the current statistics.
Too many men suffer in silence, not knowing how many people care, are here for them and want to help. There are support networks and groups all over who will and can help, if the stigma of asking for help was gone.
Even if we can help just one person to open up or let more men know they don't have to "man up" they can cry, talk, share, break down, be held and loved, we can beat this together.
From 6am on Saturday 12th September to 10pm Sunday 13th September I will be playing Warhammer 40k for 40 hours nonstop. I have some very trusty volunteers to play against me and to keep everything ticking over. Every minute of gaming will be Live Streamed for you to watch, listen to or join in for a chat. You don't have to watch for the Wargaming. Come just to check we are doing it or just to know that someone is thinking of how important our collective mental health is.
We will also have people on hand to sign post to all the organisations that can help you.
I can't run marathons or swim the channel; I can however try my hardest to stay awake for 40 hours to raise money for you guys. A happy head is a happy man and that makes for a good life.
I will be raising money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) it is the leading movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.
