We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Hello! Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

We are a group of friends/family ranging from our 20's to our 60's! We are attempting to climb the three highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland. In 24 hours. This will mainly be occuring on 11th July 2009.

This time limit includes the driving between mountains. As we will be in a mini bus carrying 13 of us, being driven by Captain and Doctor Slow (Allan & Jean), there will be no speeding to assist us.

If you think we are being too ambitious, that's because you haven't witnessed the group in recent training camps in Edinburgh and Galway. Athletic doesn't come close to describing these would be hikers.

On a serious note, we know this will be a very difficult challenge, and we are hoping to raise a lot of money completing it. It would help us make those many uphill steps so much easier if we knew we were making a difference.

We have picked Cancer Research UK because Cancer has directly affected our group in many ways. Most recently with Paula's relapse. http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/teamkilroy and previously with Andrew's(Shipps) successful fight aginst the disease when he was 18.

Finally, many of us will be climbing in memory of Mark and Martin's mother Lynn Pollhammer, a wonderful lady, who lost her own battle against Cancer in June 2008. Cancer Research are making great strides in battling this horrible illness and we are hoping to help in any way possible. Thank you.
