Story

Welcome to our fundraising page for the Peaky Climbers!

We are a group of eight friends who are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge in just 24 hours. This challenge involves climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon. We are doing this to raise money for Young Epilepsy, a charity that is close to one of our participant's hearts.

One of our team members has a daughter, Konni who has suffered from epilepsy all her life, she underwent a resection of her left frontal lobe in January of this year and is now on the road to a seizure-free life. However…..

Epilepsy can be one of the most frightening and isolating conditions a child can experience. The loss of any sense of safety, not knowing when their next seizure will happen, where it will happen, who will be there and if they’ll be hurt.

Living in this unpredictable world takes its toll on a child’s physical and mental health, as well as impacting their education and social life. It can limit opportunities for the rest of their life.

Together we can create a society where children and young people with epilepsy are heard and can live happy, fulfilled lives. Through research that improves diagnosis and treatments, campaigning for children’s rights, supporting them in school and college, delivering cutting edge health services and providing innovative tools, information, and practical help for living day-to-day life.

Children and young people with epilepsy need your help urgently because without help, epilepsy can impact them now and for the rest of their lives.

We are thrilled to have Tutor Doctor on board as our official sponsor. Tutor Doctor is a tutoring organisation with a mission of changing the trajectory of young people’s lives and so they are very much at the heart of this special collaboration… Together, Tutor Doctor, Young Epilepsy and the Peaky Climbers are raising awareness of the challenges faced by young people with epilepsy and raising vital funds to support the work of Young Epilepsy.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference to the lives of young people with epilepsy. We are committed to reaching our fundraising goal and making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by this condition.

Thank you for your support, and please donate generously to help us reach our goal!
