Story
On the 23rd of June 2012 Chris Dixon, Steve Dixon, James Darcey and Alex Kirby will be undertaking the national 3 peak challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24hrs.
10,000 feet of ascent
26miles walking
450miles driving
The challenge is to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at James Cook University Hospital (charity number 1056061) and the Special Care Baby Unit at Carlisle Hospital (charity number 1059946).
James and Harry Dixon were born on the 26th of November 2011 three months premature. Unfortunately despite every effort Harry only lived for 6 hours and died in his parents arms.
James was treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the James Cook University Hospital. Thanks to the amazing care of the dedicated team of doctors and nurses James grew stronger and after six weeks he was transferred to the Special Care Baby Unit at the Cumberland Infirmary.
James is now at home with his mum and dad. He requires oxygen 24 hours a day but continues to do well.
The money raised will help to buy the essential equipment required to give babies like James a fighting chance at life.
