Story
On 22nd May 2017, I took my little Sister to see one of her favourite popstars Ariana Grande at Manchester Arena. She had waited 5 months for this as Santa had brought it as a gift for her. Little did we know that this would be a concert we would never forget for the wrong reason.
Since that night, all I have wanted to do is somehow help. I even considered that night when I got home going back to Manchester to help those who couldn't get home, those who couldn't reach loved ones to tell them they were safe. This is a feeling of guilt i have carried with me ever since that night. I am a 27 year old adult and there were young children there that night who witnessed and suffered something no child should ever go through.
Therefore this is my chance to give something back to a city that stood so tall and has not lost one bit of its character since that tragic night. It has stood up to terrorism and shown we will not be beaten by acts of evil.
So in the run up to the anniversary, I am walking the 3 Yorkshire Peaks. the aim is £100 per peak and anything more will give me more encouragement.
This will be a very physical and tough challenge for me but this is a chance for me to close a difficult chapter of a book that is so emotionally charged with a deep feeling of helplessness. It will also go towards putting something in place for those 22 who sadly lost their lives and will always be remembered.
Thank you for your support. #onelovemanchester #westandtogether
