On 28th October 2003 Heather had an epileptic seizure and died. She was at home in bed and died in the arms of her husband David.
 
Heather had just enjoyed a wonderful week. On Sunday the 19th of October she had celebrated her 47th birthday and on the same day proudly witnessed her son Mark's graduation ceremony. Heather and David had then spent a romantic 3 day break in the Cotswolds, England celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary. Heather died the day after they returned home to Mansfield, England.
  
On the 28th of October 2006 on the 3rd anniversary of her death, David, sons Mark, Stephen and Emma (Mark's girlfriend) remembered Heather in a very special way by climbing Ben Nevis and raising money for Epilepsy Action. Taken together the date, venue (in Heather’s home country – Scotland) and cause all made this event even more poignant and special.

A total of £ 1,430 was raised as a result of the family’s hard work and so many thanks to everyone who took the time to donate to the cause and remember Heather.
 

Now in 2010 plans have been made to remember Heather and raise money for epilepsy action.
 
On the 20th August Stephen and 14 of his extremely close friends, many of whom knew Heather for many years, will be attempting to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales one after the other and all within 24-hours!

3.Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)

This challenge described as ‘the toughest hike in Britain’ will be something of an incredible feet to accomplish. The total distance including travel distance between the Mountains is 583 Miles. Even the most fittest of athletes would have it tough competing against the road traffic, the altitude, the heat, the cold and the darn midges, that lie ahead of us. Not to mention that a number of us are lacking physical fitness and relying on sheer determination, team spirit and the passion we share for our cause to get us through.
 
While you are on this site please take time to spend a little while to remember that wonderful and generous woman called Heather. Close your eyes and think of Heather and you will see a beautiful women with a broad and generous smile and who was so very caring and gentle. Friends, family and colleagues can remember the wonderful times they had with Heather - there were no other times.
  
We are all so glad that such a wonderful women has been part of our lives.

Our cause this year is two-fold. As a result of a long battle with Cancer David Shannon, a friend of Heathers and the dad of Stephen Lisgo's best mate passed away on Sunday 18th April also aged 47. David was a loving Husband, Father, Son and Brother to many who loved him dearley. He too played a pivotal role in keeping all of us boys on the straight and narrow as we grew up. Our aim is to also raise money in his memory for Cancer Research UK.
