Story
Welcome along to my Just giving page!
This year has been mad. Many people's support networks and ways to keep positive have been swept aside by this pandemic. We have all had to adapt, but for people already facing insurmountable mental odds, it's such a challenge. The devastating impact the pandemic has had, twinned with the impact a recession will have, mean mental health charities like Mind need all the help they can get as demand for their services grows.
Mind need to be ready to meet those demands. Fundraising money helps Mind to keep peer support communities open for those who feel isolated, it keeps their info line free to answer calls, and ensures Mind can keep campaigning for better mental health support,
But their usual means of fundraising have been lost as
fundraising events get cancelled or postponed; it is understandable why these events cannot go ahead, but like many charities, Mind relies on them to keep their incredible work going.
So, in order to send a little bit of support their way, I am
planning to take on the Yorkshire three Peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) in under 12 hours. 24 miles of walking, 1585 meters of ascent. I sure know how to treat myself on my week off!
