Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2017 we lost our dear Karen, a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunty and friend. There is not a moment that goes by where we don't all think of her, and as a family, we are always missing that infectious smile in the room. In honour of Karen, there are 8 of us completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on the 12th of May. It takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and is to be completed in under 12 hours. The route is 24 miles and includes 1585m of ascent!
There is nothing we can do to bring back our lovely Karen, but what we can do, as the close family we are, raise awareness and money to ensure that no other family has to experience what we have. I'm sure Karen will be laughing at us all trying to climb up those peaks - especially at Clive and Rob's knees. But don't worry Karen, rest assured that nanny will be waiting in the cottage with a glass of red for us all and not up the top of a peak!
Mental health needs more awareness and we hope that us completing this challenge it will help. Karen, we all miss you so much, and we hope that you have finally found your happy place. We hope that you are watching over us all and proud of the wonderful family you have around you. Because we are certainly all so proud of you. We would all be so grateful if you had any spare pennies to donate to our challenge and to remember our lovely Karen.
Thank you for reading our story. Kate, Rob, Clive, Lizzie, Nanny, Lisa, Graham, Jenny and Naomi xx
