Just to say thank you very much - sponsorship off and online is now and it totals £1268 - with gift aid it will be around £1,500!!
Many thanks to everyone who supported us and coughed up the dough for such a worthy cause - I can officially say it is defintiely behind us now.
From Richard and me - thank you and good night.

Well, mission accomplished. We both completed 3 marathons over some of the hardest terrain I have ever set foot on - and the last day was actually 28 miles!!
We hit our target and have a £1000 and to top it all we got our lovely picture in the Wharfedale Observer - what can i say, it's a fitting end to a fantastic adventure.
Thank you to everyone who supported us, more details shortly but i am a bit tired now!
23/09/09
Well it is virtually upon us now - this time tomorrow we will be boarding our plane (probably a bi-plane and we will be strapped to the wings) off to what better be sunny Cornwall - weather forecast says friday sunny with cloud, Saturday cloudy and Sunday glorious sun!
This will be the last post till after we have hopefully accomplished our little adventure - with a bit of luck I'll update it Tuesday when we get back.
And if you want to support us and help push it pass that £1000 mark then please feel free - every penny counts and it is appreciated.
21/09/09
Well we are over the £900 mark and oonly a couple fo days to go - Richard and I had a planning meetign last night in the pub and today my leg hurts (last minute nerves no doubt).
Thank you to everyone who has donated - I hoep we have enough strength to chase you for the dosh for those that did it off line.
And if anyone mentions Eddie Izzard again........................
18/09/09
Not long to go now - in fact one week today and we will be knee deep in Cornish coastline! I think our true figure raised so far is just over £900 with some additional off line sponsorship so keep it coming and we'll try and cap it at £1000 which would be a feat in itself.
Taper madness has set in - too much energy and nothing to do with it becasue we are supposed to be resting and next week it will be a week long pasta binge no doubt!
14/09/09
Well it is getting very close now, just over a week before we head down to the Cornish coast and the fun that is 3 consecutive marathons on 3 consecutive days!
Just to say our original aim was to raise £500 but it looks like we could possibly top the £1000 mark time we have finished so please do help us get there.
Richar dhas just completed the Yorkshireman Half Marathon on Sunday in a good time and good effort, I for my part was swainning around in a limo drinking champagne (seriously i was) for a wedding anniversary - all good fun and perfect for a taper.
Did a nice 8 mile run tonight with some long sweeping hills and as the sun set at just afyter 7 I realised that Winter was on its blinking way and before long I'll be bored to tears running on dark roads in the rain.
So Cornwall will be our last big adventure in what I hoep will be the dying embers of Summer, sounds fitting really.

I like the look of that date! Just about 2 weeks to go now, most of the training is done, I have a cold but it will pass and we are starting to sort our logisitcs out to make sure it all goes smoothly!
And the target has been smashed so thank you but let's see if we can reach £1000!

If you want to see a video of the Atlantic Coast Challenge, or as we know it the 3 Pasties Run, then have a look at this:

and for a detailed report on the ACC look at:

Well we have beat our initial target of £500 thanks to mainly offline sponsorship from Richard's work, my girfriend's mum's dancing group and the efforts of Jenny at the gym!
Fantastic - thank you everyone who has supported and donated, it would be good if we could get to £1000 now we're so close.
Yesterday we did a 22 mile training run up and over the moors but it was hard and to be honest not the best run we have ever done. The wind was strong, rain was er wet and the terrain was just too boggy so it was massively energy sapping. Still we made it round and frankly I have never been so happy to see the gym as when we had finished that run.
Still the thing to do if you have a bad run is learn from it and then put it firmly behind you and not allow it to carry over to your training, easier said than done but you have to make the effort.
Not long now!!!
4 Sept 09
OK so 3 weeks to go and all seems well. Richard has managed to raise over £150 on a sponsorship form and we have been promied more so it sounds like we will beat the target we set of £500.
We had a good 6 mile training run tonight with plenty of opportunity fo rjumping in puddles and splashing the girls. Very childish but good fun - especially if you have water proof socks on (oh yes they do exist).
1 Sept 09
Well we really are in countdown now - less than 24 days time before we find ourselves in Cornwall! Just did a good 7 miles of hills, if you know it it was the chevin chase route - if you don;t know it then it is hilly with a few more hills added for fun!
Richard and myself would like to say a big big thank you to Jenny from Dragons Running Club who has amazingly managed to secure £160 in sponsorship offline so thank you very much Jenny.
And I am sure it won't be long before the lovely people at LA Fitness Yeadon find their way to this site or the sponsorship form to support us.
Big run coming up on Saturday with a sprinkling of shorter ones in between.
30 August 09
Well we have just done another 15 miles training run - round Swinsty, Fewston and Thruscross - wlakable if you fancy taking a few hours and seeing some lovely countryside, but tricky for running in places as overgrown, bad cambers and a touch muddy. Not good if you are starting to get paranoid about your ankles!
No more running now, for 24 hours!!!
If you get the chance please forward the email address for this site and thanks for your support.

Well, another good run, this time it was the Yorkshireman half marathon route, up and over the moors at Haworth. Weather was great, views spectacular. It was a mixed bunch of us that went out and I think we all enjoyed it.
I think some people have had some technical difficulties trying to donate, I guess it must just be sheer demand! Thanks to everyone that has so far.
28 August 09
Bank Holiday weekend is here and so is the rain but training goes on, a nice gentle 6 miles last night, only nearly got killed twice which is not bad going for some of our country roads!
Here's how this month's Runners World describes the upcoming Atlantic Coast 3-Day Challenge (that's the official title for our 3 Pasties Run): "..an exciting race of steep rocky cliff paths, shingle, sand and mud. Day three is the wildest, passing over some very remote coastline to Land's End."
Great, just what you want, the toughest day is when you are most knackered - allthe more reason why we need some messages of support (and your donations).
26 August 09
Have a look at www.dragonsrunning.co.uk for more exciting piccies of me and Richard and other running adventures.
Professionals better than me have told me to add a target and put the amounts on that people are generously donating, so I will bow to superior wisdom. The thinking is that if a business puts a bit on then there competitior / supplier might feel inclined to beat it - which I am all for.
And if you are a business then feel free to plug yourself, know reason why we shouldn't all feel good about our efforts.
In terms of training, we did a nice gently 5ish miles last night, all good lovely night excpet my foot is sore so going to stock up on ibuprofen beforehand, still a bit of pulling and twisting at the chiropractors might help (chers Niko). Lots of wet mile scoming up at the weekend - including the Yorkshireman Half Marathon route, weather permitting.
Will add more later but for now please forward the link to friends colleagues and lets see what good we can do with such a foolish endeavour.

The 3 Pasties Run is 3 marathons in 3 days along the Cornish coastline – from Padstow to Land’s End and the action takes place on 25-26-27th September!
It’s actually part of the Atlantic Coast Challenge 2009 but we like to do things our own way; which is why after a strategy meeting in the pub we decided that if we were going to give our blood (plenty of chaffing), sweat (bucket loads, have you seen the pictures) and tears (that will be on the 28th September when the muscle soreness sets in) then someone should benefit from it. That someone is Yorkshire Cancer Research – an independent medical research charity that has, for the last 85 years been fighting to find the causes and cures of cancer. And to all you regional patriots – money is raised and research funded right here (and only here) in Yorkshire. Breakthroughs have been made in vaccines, surgery and overall approach to investigating cancer but the fight is ongoing and so is the need for fundraising. If you live and work in Yorkshire, have friends or family here, or your life has been touched by cancer in any way, please show your support for the important work Yorkshire Cancer Research funds. We have bought and paid for our places in this madcap adventure so we haven’t set a target because whatever we raise is a bonus. What would be great is if we could get a lot of people to give a little – so please do your bit and then pass it on the just giving address to a couple of your friends (especially if you work in a big company). I've switched the view amount off so don't be bashful use your city bonus wisely! And don’t forget the gift-aid, particularly if you are in the higher tax bracket (go on, I know a few of you are). And we are calling it 3 Pasties Run becasue at the end of each marathon we get - a pasty!
Thank you for supporting me and Richard and YCR –if we make it back I’ll post an update. GC
