3 marathons - 3 counties - 3 days
Fundraising for Lymphoma Action
On the 2nd February 2022 I found out that one of my best friends had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the tender age of just 29. Two weeks later I discovered that my step dad, Ollie’s dad, had the same form of cancer and would undergo the same treatment process at the same hospital. They are both doctors by profession.
My brother and I are taking on a challenge to raise as much money as possible for Lymphoma Action, a charity which supports people going through this terrible disease. We will run three marathons on three consecutive days in three different counties. The first leg will take place in Yorkshire where both my step dad and best friend were born and raised. Day two will be in our home county of Derbyshire, beginning in our village, going through Repton where my step dad is the school doctor and where I first met my best friend at school and finishing at the Royal Derby hospital where they are both currently being treated, normally just three bays apart. We’ll be finishing off in Buckinghamshire and ending that leg at the Lymphoma Action head office in Aylesbury. A gruelling challenge but one we will take on across the weekend of 22nd-24th July. We welcome anyone who fancies running some distance with us or even hopping on a bike to keep us going.
We would really appreciate any donations which will truly mean a lot, not only to us but to everyone currently living through this form of cancer and to those who will be diagnosed with it in the future.
Charities like Lymphoma Action really rely on donations to be able to give the best possible support they can to people diagnosed with the disease and to help their families.
We will be updating this page across the weekend to let people know how we’re getting on.
Donations small or large will make all the difference
