Story
Hello there, and welcome to our magnificent webpage.
On June 5th, 1944, more than 1,000 British bombers soared magnificently over the Normandy coastline, dropping over 5,000 tonnes of explosives onto German gun batteries (booo) in preparation for Operation Overlord, one of the largest and most magnificent seaborne invasions in history.

The next morning, at H-Hour on D-Day, 3,000 magnificent Allied ships carried 160,000 even more magnificent Allied troops across the English channel to storm the five infamous landings beaches and scythe their way into occupied France. The eventual success of this truly magnificent undertaking gave the Allies a vital foothold in the quest to recapture Northern Europe, and ultimately played a decisive part in the outcome of World War II.

65 years on, at 11.30 am on the 5th June 2009, one magnificent Brittany Ferry will carry Three Magnificent Men, armed with only their bikes and their dreams, across the English channel to begin their Conquest of Europe, a 20-day, 1,000 mile cycling slog through the deadliest areas of France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, and culminating in probably the deadliest area of all – the magnificent North East of England.

If you would like to sponsor The Three on their epic journey, please feel free to click the handy little button below. All proceeds will be going to the Royal British Legion, a charity which helps the real Magnificent Men and Women who are currently serving or have previously served in the British Armed Forces. Be they decorated World War veterans or brand spanking new recruits, every one of them deserves to be praised and thanked, and this is our little way of doing just that.
