Independent Age is one of our charity partners whose mission is to ensure that as we grow older, we all have the opportunity to live well with dignity, choice and purpose. In the UK today 2.1 million older people live in poverty, 1.5 million have at least one unmet care need and 1.4 million are lonely. This is why Independent Age focuses its resources in the key areas of poverty, health and care and loneliness so they can deliver the greatest impact and reach.

They provide award winning and free information through their 25 advice guides and 32 fact sheets covering topics from staying safe online to how to claim Pension Credit.  They also provide expert advice to older people with complicated cases around benefits, navigating the social care system and mobility. Independent Age also has befriending services, matching a dedicated volunteer with lonely older people either face to face or over the phone. Finally they  influence public debate through their policy influencing work, driving structural change to improve the lives of older people.
