Story
In 2023, three girls that enjoy the outdoors have decided to take on the ultimate challenge and take on the National Three Peaks Challenge which involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours!!!
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - The total driving distance is 462 miles (we won't be doing that part hopefully!).
I have chosen to support The Brompton Fountain as this has recently become a charity very close to my heart. In May 2022 I chose to take a break from my Neonatal Nursing career. The timing couldn't have been better as I found a family looking for a nanny with some nursing experience to help take care of their son, born with a congenital heart defect, so his Mum could return to work after spending his first 7 months at the Royal Brompton, with many more to follow...
The Brompton Fountain is the children’s charity at Royal Brompton Hospital. The charity provides a wide range of vital resources and services, parent/carer amenities and accommodation and funds medical equipment, improvements to the facilities and projects which are outside of the NHS remit. Many patients have life limiting conditions and will require frequent admissions and often long stays in hospital for surgery and on-going treatment for the rest of their lives. Their aim is to improve the quality of life and environment for young patients in hospital and at home and make a difference when it’s needed most.
