Take on the Great North Run 2022 for Derian House Children's Hospice!
Story
I am taking on the Great North Run for Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley. They provide care and respite for children with life limiting or life shortening conditions. To provide their services to the children and families of the NW of England it costs them over £5.7m per year - with less than 17% of this provided by any statutory funding.
The Great North Run is one of the countries most well known and successful runs. This half marathon is a 13.1 mile journey through the city centre and surrounding areas. The route will take runners towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the famous Tyne Bridge. The streets will be packed with spectators who have come from far and wide to cheer their friends and family on!
Derian House Children's Hospice provides specialist care and respite to children and young people with life-limiting or life-shortening conditions. We cover the South of Cumbria, the entire of Lancashire and the North of Manchester. To provide our services in 2023 the cost to us stands at over £6m.
