Story
Someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer every 16 minutes. Blood cancer is the fifth most common type of cancer in the UK. Leukaemia UK support those affected by leukaemia and other blood cancers through the physical, psychological and emotional uncertainty that may come with a diagnosis, working to fund innovative and effective research for better treatments and care. Following on from the death of my mother who lost her fight to a rare form of Leukaemia in September 2021, and watching her suffer but at the same time fight as hard as she could, was the most difficult and horrible things I have endured. Seeing something like this unfold before your eyes to a loved one makes you put things into perspective a lot and in doing so, one of the things I wanted to set out on is raising awareness and money for Leukaemia UK in loving memory of my mum Judith Le Bas. This challenge will in no doubt be extreme and painful, mentally and physically but that what a challenge is isn't it!! But one thing is for sure It will not come even close to what people are going through in terms of this disease and many other devastating diseases out there. Are quest is to support a few charities close to our hearts with Leukaemia being one. We will start at the end of July 2022 and ride into Aug 2022. We will climb three of the highest peaks in the UK via ridge routes and we will then cycle between them and return back to our base in Lincoln which totals over 1,000 KM's and around 45KM's of trekking. Please get behind our cause and support us in hitting our targets for what are great causes.
